Goal 8: DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH

Logistics Hub

We have recently opened our new Hegelmann Hub in Żarska Wieś, Poland, near the German border, in response to increased regulations and requirements such as the EU’s mobility package. The new hub, which took two years to build, is set to become a central point for truck drivers, service providers and others in the logistics industry. Hegelmann Group is the first company in the transportation and logistics industry to set up an integrated operations centre in Poland, and the hub is seen as a major step forward for the company.

Offering comprehensive services for freight forwarders, vehicles and drivers, the 12-hectare complex includes a 7,000 square metre service area for trucks, with a workshop, diagnostic facility, paint shop and truck wash. There is also a spare parts and tyre warehouse of almost 6,000 square metres, enabling the company to optimise repair times and ensure efficient operations. Rest and community are key features of the trucking industry, so the hub also includes a hotel with over 750 beds and office space for more than 60 external collaborators.

The opening of the Hegelmann Hub is set to have a positive impact on the local area, with the complex itself expected to employ around 200 people. “Further jobs will be created by our business partners and other companies,” says Hegelmann. The company also plans to expand the complex in the future, with a separate logistics complex and storage centre.
