Goal 8: DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
Collaboration between Sustainability, HR and Learning & Development departments
Each department in our business has a valuable role to play in executing our strategy. Through department collaboration, we can commit to wider-reaching actions
and capitalise on the array of talent.
This year, our Sustainability, HR and Learning & Development (L&D) departments have committed to three joint objectives:
Establish the definition of living wage by 2030
The Sustainability department will take the lead with research and analysis of
global best practice; HR will measure financial implications; and L&D will
facilitate educational workshops
Offer 60 annual work and internship places by 2025
HR will lead the process of defining internship roles, recruiting and onboarding; the Sustainability team will ensure an equal distribution of internships across departments; and the L&D team will create structured learning plans
Provide opportunities for growth by allowing employees 24 hours each year for training and personal development
L&D will design and facilitate a comprehensive annual training programme; HR will encourage employees to use their training time allocations; and Sustainability will ensure sustainable practices are embedded into the curriculum
These objectives project a unified approach to our decent work and economic growth targets, and will provide benefits across the business.
